Ambler is a dog walking route guide for Stamford and the surrounding villages. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

• To provide the core service — recording walks, saving routes, syncing across devices.
• To improve route quality using aggregated feedback and condition reports.
• To display community features like The Pack feed and leaderboard.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.

We rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate Ambler:

• Supabase — secure data and file storage.
• Open-Meteo — weather data for route locations.
• GraphHopper — routing and path generation.
• Ordnance Survey Maps — base map tiles.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

You have the right to:

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Rectify inaccurate data via your profile or by contacting us.
• Erase your account and associated data on request.
• Portability — receive your walk data in a machine-readable format (GPX export is built in).
• Object to processing or restrict it in certain circumstances.
• Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We use only essential cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.
